Supported Reclining Posture

person supported in a reclining position

I invite you to explore a supported reclining posture. Get yourself a cozy spot set up with lots of blankets, pillows, cushions, or yoga props if you have them. Create a ramped support that you can lie back on, with the head and neck supported and the forehead slightly higher than the chin. The torso may be at 45 degrees, or whatever is comfortable with the support that you have.

Take a cushion or rolled blanket under the knees, heels resting comfortably on a soft surface. Wear socks and if it wouldn’t be too hot, cover yourself. Use a soft scarf or hand towel to cover the eyes. Set a timer for 5 minutes. Stay longer if it feels yummy. If you get the fidgets, just watch the rise and fall of the breath.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
