About

I live in Austin, Texas with my wonderful husband and four children. Things that put a twinkle in my eye and pep in my step are my Christian faith, my family, music and singing, learning languages, and travel.

I found yoga therapy while struggling with chronic and mystery illness, which I suffered with for over 20 years, and this led me to become a teacher. My work with clients comes from a place of lived experience with chronic illness and recovery.

A yoga practitioner for 25 years, I hold bachelor’s degrees in Studio Art, Anthropology and Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Business Certificate from UT’s McComb’s School of Business. In addition to being a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), I am an RYT-500, ERYT-200, YACEP, and also hold certifications in Restorative Yoga (Relax and Renew with Judith Lasater), and Yoga for 12 Step Recovery (Y12SR).

I currently teach public classes, am a faculty member at the Practice School of Yoga Therapy, see private clients, and mentor teachers and yoga therapists.

Mission Statement

My mission is to use the therapeutic tools of yoga to empower others, especially those with complex health issues, to experience their wholeness. My primary tools and the foundation of my work are ease and joy.

Guiding Values

Compassion. Kindness toward ourselves is necessary for us to practice kindness toward others. When we speak and act from a place of compassion, we step into possibility.

Presence. Doing the work requires a strong sense of where you are. We can experience vulnerability and authenticity when we are present to our lives.

Collaboration. A great yoga therapist serves as a guide, leading the client to their own inner knowing. My mission is to empower others to experience their wholeness, and this is done through collaboration.
